Moyra’s GREEN RUN is organized by members of Líonra – a professional business networking group, which also doubles as a vibrant social environment for business professionals who have an interest in Ireland and the North East of England.
March the 17th is St Patrick’s Day and each year Líonra run an event on or around this date to raise funds for charity. This year, on the 19th of March, we are helping them organise the Tynemouth GREEN DAY – an event incorporating Moyra’s GREEN RUN as part of their fundraising efforts alongside a few other exciting and entertaining initiatives.
Moyra is Karen’s mum, one of Líonra‘s founding members and biggest ambassadors. Moyra suffers from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy which is a degenerative disease. She has been attending St Oswald’s Hospice in Gosforth regularly. St Oswald’s provides specialist palliative care to adults and children from the North East of England and is the first of our chosen charities. We have also chosen to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the only UK-wide charity making a daily difference to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis, and those who care for them.
Moyra’s GREEN RUN will take place on the 19th March 2016 on Longsands Beach, Tynemouth. If you are not a keen runner, there are plenty more activities you can get involved in to help us raise funds for our cause.
How does the idea of being part of a Guinness World Record sound? We are planning on smashing the current record for the largest human shamrock and for that we need 1000 of you to join us!
Or how about watching a game or Irish football? Or entering your four legged furry friend in a fun competition? Or enjoying some Irish dancing and ceilidh music?
We simply ask for your support and help in ensuring this event is a huge success through your participation, sponsorship and promotion.
