Having failed in my attempts to get my fabulous husband Jason Isaacs a slot at Glastonbury (one of these years…) and with 2015 marking quite a significant anniversary (more of that later), I have decided to create my own festival.

Let me introduce TENNISWOODSTOCK!

The great thing about having my own festival is that I get to choose the acts. For this very auspicious inaugural event I have chosen 3 of my most favourite performers – one I am married to (couldn’t leave him out…), one provided the soundtrack to my university days and one is a new discovery, but none-the-less beloved. In this order they are:

Jason Isaacs & The Ambassadors of Swing

Martin Stephenson & The Daintees

Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience

If you don’t know them, you are in for one hell of a treat. Because I am in charge, I am also having a SILENT DISCO!! I am soooo excited!!

Why TENNISWOODSTOCK I hear you say?

As I allured to earlier, 2015 is quite a big year for me. Not only does it represent my 12th & 7th year post breast cancer, it also marks 30 years of togetherness for myself & Jason. And for those of you who don’t know, Tenniswood is our ‘real’ name. So with all this in mind I decided to move my annual Pink Friday breast cancer care fundraiser, to a Purple Wednesday in August! The format is the same – good fun, great music and a crazy raffle, once you’ve bought a ticket you are committed to bringing an unwanted gift for the raffle – no gift, no entry 😉

On the plus side of course, everyone also goes home with a prize.

We have chosen the fabulous surroundings of Newton Hall for this happening and will be putting on a party bus for people travelling to and from Newcastle. There are a limited number of rooms for anyone wishing to stay over, available at a preferential rate.

I hope you can make it – one thing us Northerners know how to do well is have fun!!
